Gov. Dave Paterson's plan would spring chronically ill violent inmates

ALBANY - In his bid to cut state spending, Gov. Paterson would spring hundreds of prison inmates - a plan that has drawn sharp criticism from Republicans.
Paterson would make it easier to release terminally and chronically ill violent inmates - except murderers.
