The man wounded by a U.S. deputy marshal in Hollywood today was an escapee from a federal prison, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 11:50 a.m. at Sunset Boulevard and Wilton Place, according to Officer Gregory Baek of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations office.
Paramedics transported the suspect to a hospital, and no other injuries were reported.
