Inmate hits deputy, is subdued with Taser

LAWRENCEVILLE — Deputies used a Taser to subdue an inmate after she hit a deputy Friday morning.

Ernesteen Crawford, 51, of Atlanta, had a verbal outburst while in line for medication at the Gwinnett County Jail, a press release said. When the female deputy approached her to talk, Crawford hit the deputy with a closed fist.

After a brief fight, other deputies arrived to help. They subdued Crawford with a Taser and then placed her in a restraint chair, the release said.  More...
