Inmate jumped to his death in jail

NEWARK -- A Licking County jail inmate died Tuesday after jumping over a rail to the floor about nine feet below.

William Overbey, 45, of Fallsbury Township, was speaking with other inmates in the upper tier of a housing module, then stood by the rail for a short period of time and jumped at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Licking County Sheriff Randy Thorp said.
