K-9 units sweep prison for drugs

Gettysburg - A surprise canine inspection and practice emergency recall early Tuesday morning resulted in no drugs or weapons, and only a few articles of “nuisance contraband” being found, according to Prison Warden Brian Clark. “It’s good to know that the staff is catching it coming in,” Clark said Wednesday afternoon. “There is very little stuff getting in.”The five-hour sweep, comprising eight Department of Corrections K-9 handlers and their dogs, began at 2 a.m. Tuesday with a practice emergency recall of all 70 union and administrative prison staff.
