LOCKPORT, La. (AP) - Lafourche Parish authorities say a female inmate has been charged with several assaults on jail employees, including one incident in which she allegedly took off her handcuffs and used them as a weapon.
Sheriff Craig Webre said in a news release that 36-year-old Jodie Savoie has attacked numerous people since her arrest Dec. 4 for placing a bogus food order at a restaurant and threatening to "kill everyone" at the eatery if the order wasn't prepared. She's now facing more than a dozen additional charges related to alleged attacks on deputies, jailers and a jail nurse. More
