Inmate brawls injure 4 officers

One of two inmate disturbances at the Michigan Reformatory prison Wednesday left four officers injured, Department of Corrections officials said Thursday.
An unidentified officer was beaten and kicked in the head when he was attacked in a housing unit by at least two inmates, said Corrections Department spokesman John Cordell. He was taken to a Lansing hospital. Three other officers were treated for less serious injuries, he said.

The attack occurred shortly after about eight prisoners got into a brawl in the exercise yard, Cordell said.    More...    PrisonerPal.com
